Estamos por arrancar un torneo más y no queda más que darles las gracias y la bienvenida a todos los que están de regreso una temporada más con Bendito Fantasy. Será ya nuestra novena temporada, y como todo, seguimos evolucionando, seguimos creciendo y seguimos buscando nuevas ideas para interactuar con la enorme comunidad que se ha creado alrededor de este gran juego que es Fantasy Premier League.
Hoy toca hablar de una de nuestras tradiciones: la Copa Santamaria.
Veinte lugares. Ni uno más.
La Copa Santamaria es el torneo de copa que organizamos cada año en Bendito Fantasy y está bautizada así en honor a Julio Santamaria, uno de nuestros Patreons más longevos y que durante mucho tiempo ha acompañado a Bendito Fantasy. Este año ha llegado el momento de dar nuevamente el banderazo inicial y comenzar a repartir los boletos para una nueva edición.
La Copa está restringida a solamente 20 participantes, para mantener el mismo tamaño y forma de una temporada de Premier League. Cada jornada, dos equipos se enfrentan cara a cara y ganan o pierden de acuerdo con los puntos obtenidos esa semana en su enfrentamiento directo. La gran diferencia respecto a la miniliga general de Bendito Fantasy es que aquí no basta simplemente con inscribirse.
Hay que ganarse uno de los 20 lugares.
Tradicionalmente, la manera de hacerlo ha sido mediante nuestras trivias: una pregunta, una respuesta correcta y un boleto para la Copa Santamaria. Con el tiempo, esa búsqueda de los 20 participantes se ha convertido también en una tradición de Bendito Fantasy y este año regresa, aunque con un pequeño cambio en la manera de jugar.
Ahora les toca preguntar
Vamos a seguir teniendo trivias, pero esta temporada la dinámica también se vuelca hacia la comunidad. En algunos de los retos, Bendito Fantasy lanzará una temática y quienes quieran conseguir uno de los boletos para la Copa Santamaria tendrán que hacer algo diferente: formular la pregunta.
Los usuarios podrán publicar sus propuestas relacionadas con la temática indicada utilizando #CopaSantamaria y etiquetando a @benditofantasy. Bendito Fantasy revisará las preguntas recibidas y seleccionará una de ellas. Publicar una pregunta no significa que el reto haya comenzado; solamente cuando Bendito anuncie cuál ha sido la pregunta elegida se abrirá oficialmente la carrera por encontrar la respuesta.
Para que una pregunta pueda ser considerada, quien la formule deberá enviarnos también la respuesta correcta por mensaje directo. La respuesta, obviamente, no deberá aparecer públicamente junto con la pregunta: necesitamos conocerla para comprobar que la trivia tiene solución, verificar que la respuesta propuesta es válida y posteriormente poder identificar al ganador.
Una vez activada la trivia, quien encuentre la solución deberá publicar su respuesta etiquetando a @benditofantasy, de manera que podamos identificar quién respondió correctamente primero. Si la respuesta es correcta, tanto quien creó la pregunta seleccionada como quien consiguió resolverla obtendrán su lugar en la Copa Santamaria de este año.
Saber responder sigue teniendo premio. Pero ahora, saber preguntar también.
¿Qué estamos buscando?
Queremos preguntas ingeniosas, comprobables y relacionadas con Fantasy, fútbol, Premier League y los temas que viven alrededor de ellos. No estamos buscando necesariamente preguntas imposibles, sino retos que favorezcan el conocimiento de Fantasy, la investigación, los datos, la observación y, sobre todo, la creatividad.

Además, aquellas preguntas que encuentren maneras interesantes de incorporar las herramientas disponibles en Bendito Fantasy tendrán prioridad. Queremos que también exploren, busquen y descubran qué pueden encontrar dentro de nuestro propio ecosistema, especialmente cuando esa información permita construir una pregunta que no pueda resolverse simplemente con una búsqueda rápida.
Bendito Fantasy se reservará la posibilidad de aceptar, rechazar o simplemente no seleccionar las preguntas recibidas. No todas las propuestas necesariamente se convertirán en una trivia oficial y será Bendito quien determine cuál abre cada reto.

We are about to kick off another tournament, and there is no better place to start than by thanking and welcoming everyone who is back for another season with Bendito Fantasy. This will already be our ninth season, and as always, we continue to evolve, grow, and look for new ways to interact with the huge community that has formed around this great game we know as Fantasy Premier League.
Today, it is time to talk about one of our traditions: the Copa Santamaria.
Twenty spots. Not one more.
The Copa Santamaria is the cup competition we organize every year at Bendito Fantasy, named in honor of Julio Santamaria, one of our longest-standing Patreons and someone who has been part of Bendito Fantasy for many years. The time has come to kick things off once again and start handing out the tickets for a new edition.
The Cup is limited to only 20 participants, keeping the same size and format as a Premier League season. Every Gameweek, two teams face each other head-to-head, winning or losing based on the points they score that week. The big difference compared with the general Bendito Fantasy mini-league is that simply signing up is not enough.
You have to earn one of those 20 spots.
Traditionally, the way to do that has been through our trivia challenges: one question, one correct answer, and one ticket to the Copa Santamaria. Over time, the search for those 20 participants has become a Bendito Fantasy tradition of its own, and this year it is back, although with a small change to the way we play.
Now it is your turn to ask
We will still have trivia challenges, but this season we are also turning the dynamic over to the community. In some of these challenges, Bendito Fantasy will announce a theme, and those who want to earn one of the tickets to the Copa Santamaria will have to do something different: come up with the question.
Users will be able to post their proposed questions related to the announced theme using #CopaSantamaria and tagging @benditofantasy. Bendito Fantasy will review the submissions and select one of them. Posting a question does not mean the challenge has started; only when Bendito announces the selected question will the race to find the answer officially begin.
For a question to be considered, whoever submits it must also send us the correct answer via direct message. Obviously, the answer should not be posted publicly alongside the question: we need to know it so we can confirm that the trivia has a valid solution, verify that the proposed answer is correct, and later identify the winner.
Once the trivia is officially active, whoever finds the solution must post their answer while tagging @benditofantasy, allowing us to identify who answered correctly first. If the answer is correct, both the person who created the selected question and the person who solved it will earn their spot in this year's Copa Santamaria.
Knowing the answer still comes with a reward. But now, knowing how to ask the question does too.
What are we looking for?
We want clever, verifiable questions related to Fantasy, football, the Premier League, and the subjects surrounding them. We are not necessarily looking for impossible questions, but rather challenges that reward Fantasy knowledge, research, data, observation, and, above all, creativity.

We want you to explore, search, and discover what you can find within our own ecosystem, especially when that information can be used to create a question that cannot simply be solved with a quick search.
Bendito Fantasy reserves the right to accept, reject, or simply not select any of the questions submitted. Not every proposal will necessarily become an official trivia challenge, and Bendito will determine which question opens each challenge.
